Hi everyone. Here I am! :) It's been a while since I've posted a project. What can I say....busy busy busy. But...I was so excited to do up this image! Lizzy Love has been pumping out more and more digital stamps as well as rubber stamps and they are absolutely amazing! Click here to check out the Oddball Art Co Etsy Shop. If you use coupon code DTBAILEY10, you'll receive 10% anything in the shop! If you're interested in entering this challenge (Anything Goes) or any future challenges, check out the Oddball Art Co Challenge Blog or the Mixed Mediaology group on Facebook. A variety of techniques were used in this creation. Click "read more" below for techniques and supplies used... |
The image was printed on 8.5x11 cardstock. Using Copic Markers, I colored the image, leaving the background white. Then, I used colored pencils to go over the copic coloring. Click here for a previous post about using colored pencils to add depth to your images. Once the image was completely colored and looking fabulous, I masked it off with masking fluid to protect the fabulousness while I did the background. I have a previous post about this technique as well that contains a process video. Once the masking fluid was dry, I went crazy on the background using a combination of Distress Inks, stencils, stamps, Windsor & Newton Watercolor Markers, and Archval Ink (for the parts I didn't want blending out with water). Oh...yes....lots of water! The masking fluid stands strong even through the addition of water. Anywho...after I was completely done with the background.....I continued working on the background. :) What can I say...I sometimes don't know when to stop. BTW...leave a comment if you share this bad habit as well. I'm interested to hear just how far you take things past the point of completion. Ok where was I? Oh....removing the masking fluid...I simply rubbed it with my finger and it rolls up into gooey rubbery balls. The image was perfectly preserved and ya can't even tell it was masked. So that's it. This was a fun project. I look forward to getting back in the swing of creating again. And of course...it'll all be here for you to see.
